Lecture - "Victorian Cardiff in Photographs"

When: Saturday 18th February 2006

Where: Educational Centre - Cardiff Castle, Educational Centre Cardiff Castle Castle Street Cardiff CF10 3RB

Lecture by Matthew Williams, Curator, Cardiff Castle.
Cardiff changed almost beyond recognition during the 63 years of Victoria’s reign and the new medium of photography captured the changing scene. This illustrated talk explores nineteenth century Cardiff. Fascinating images are largely drawn from the work of amateur photographers, who were as anxious to record disappearing landmarks, as they were to record current events.

This is the first in a series of 5 talks on the theme of Victorian Cardiff.
