This summer sees the launch of a new Touchrugby competition in Cardiff. Touchrugby.com will be starting up a new Cardiff Central League with all games being played at Blackweir playing fields.
The game of Touchrugby is similar to rugby but without the tackling, scrumming, rucking, mauling, lineouts and kicking. This fast, simple and exciting game promotes the fundatmental skills of running, handling, evasion and support play, whilst developing basic principles of attack and defence, without the fear of getting hurt.
The Touchrugby.com Cardiff competition is suitable for both men and women whether they be beginners and experienced players. People of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels play the game. Players will find that over a season their personal fitness levels will increase. Touchrugby is a great way to exercise, improve cardio vascular fitness and help to burn excess fat.
Teams can register to play on the touchrugby.com website. This year the Cardiff Central site will be running both a men’s and a mixed league. In addition to this individuals who wish to play can also register online and they will then be placed in a team.
The league will start on Thursday 25th May and all games be held on a Thursday night. In order for teams to get a bit of practice in there will be a try out evening on Thursday 18th May starting at 6.30 pm.
In addition to this there will also be a try out session at our launch party on Sunday 12th May from 2pm-4pm at Blackweir playing fields followed by the launch party at the Blackweir Tavern. Further details of the launch party can be found on www.touchrugby.com
