This five day course provides tuition in the art of constructing late c19th corsets using traditional fabrics and techniques. It will be of particular interest to any aspiring costume maker...
During the course, you will construct two corsets; The first will be based on an original 1860’s pattern with split busk fastening, back lacing and spiral boning. The second is a choice between an 1890’s corset with coding, gussets and flossing or a 1902 ribbon corset.

Participants should bring fabric, paper scissors and their own choice of top fabric for the corsets. All necessary notions will be provided. Knowledge of sewing machines would be an advantage.
Cost for the five days is £250 plus VAT.
Closing date for applications: 15th June 2008.
Cancellation policy: A 75% refund will be made if cancelled up to 7 days prior to the start date.
