'Singing for Musical Theatre', a weekend course designed for aspiring and established actors to enhance their vocal coaching, acting through song and music theatre skills, will be run by Pip Reeves and John O’Hara.
After the success of the 2004 Summer School and many subsequent courses, highly skilled teachers John O'Hara and Philippa Reeves, are running this two day course designed specifically for actors who already sing or would like to improve their vocal skills. As an actor, the ability to sing is vital, and this course is designed to top up singing skills for all forms of theatre.
What does it offer?
A chance to improve technique, harmony and acting through song skills.
Why would I want it?
If you feel your technique is slipping, or you can sing but you don’t know how you do it, or you lack confidence.
How will it work?
You will have a chance to work with two highly skilled teachers who will help you to understand the art of song, musicality and structure. You will work individually on singing technique to help improve your sound quality and stamina. You will work as a group on structured and improvised harmony. You will work on individual repertoire, opening connections to text and music. Please bring with you 2 contrasting pieces that are ready for performance.
