The BibleCodeSundays rock in Cardiff with O'Neill's summer music tour

O’Neill’s St Mary Street in Cardiff is one of a handful of specially selected venues in the country set to play host to a free intimate gig with one of the UK’s hottest up and coming bands as part of their summer tour.
The spotlight is set to shine on Irish music this summer as hot Irish band The BibleCodeSundays exclusively tour 18 O’Neill’s pubs across the country for a foot-stomping live summer tour.
The 18-date tour, which launched on May 30, is a rare opportunity to see the full line up of the talented Irish six-piece who will play to eager crowds around the UK in association with Magners Irish Cider. What’s more, each gig is completely free to attend.
The BibleCodeSundays Tour kicked off in Manchester – appearing at O’Neill’s St Mary Street on July 30 – and follows a manic year of tours, gigs and festivals across the US for the band, which resulted in them supporting the Drop Kick Murphys at the biggest St Patrick’s Day party in the world in Boston, USA.
All six members of the band have music in their genes. Guitar and vocalist Ronan MacManus is the brother of well-known musician Elvis Costello, whilst Andy Nolan, the band’s accordion player, has played alongside Shane MacGowan & The Popes. Carlton Hunt (ex Bad Manners), is the band’s drummer, Enda Mulloy – bass and vocals – is the son of Tom from the legendary Mulloy brothers, Joe Moran (flute and vocals) is a renowned musician, and Patrick Franklin has been tipped as London’s hottest young fiddle player.
Having formed in multicultural London surrounded by a strong Irish community, The BibleCodeSundays have effortlessly merged the sounds of other Irish bands such as U2, Thin Lizzy and The Pogues to create a unique sound. Representing both the history and future of Irish music, The BibleCodeSundays have released two albums to date, ‘Ghosts of Our Past’ and ‘Boots or No Boots’, and are described as a breath of fresh air by infusing an eclectic mix of ‘London Irish Rock’, Irish sounds and home-grown lyrics.
Ronan MacManus, the band’s singer and guitarist, said: “For us, music is all about performing live gigs and where better to find a crowd who are up for the craic than O’Neill’s?! Because we love to play music from our Irish roots, it’s great that we can do such a major national tour of some great Irish pubs.
“Performing The BibleCodeSundays tour of O’Neill’s with Magners as sponsors will definitely be one of the highlights of our UK career to date because we can play intimate gigs to current fans and hopefully attract some new ones in the process.”
Hot-footing it back to the UK fresh from a hugely successful US tour, The BibleCodeSundays will be playing at O’Neill’s pubs in Manchester, Richmond, Birmingham, Leytonstone, Liverpool, Leicester, Glasgow, Bournemouth, Bristol, Solihull, Leeds, Cardiff, Reading, High Wycombe, Muswell Hill, Ealing and Wardour Street, London.
The free tour, which will take place until the end of August, allows The BibleCodeSundays’ growing fan-base to get up close and personal with the band at O’Neill’s. The performances will showcase a mix of their own material and renditions of some classic anthems during the summer evenings.
