When: Tuesday 11th August 2009 - 10am - 6pm
Where: Working Street, CF10
Lloyd Scott is walking from Lands End to John o’ Groats accompanied by a 12 feet high and 30 feet long, life-sized replica T-Rex! The trek will take 70 days, started on July 19th and finishing on September 27th, fundraising for the charity Teenage Cancer Trust.
Lloyd is walking an average of 19 miles every day, which at normal walking speed will take over 6 hours!!
Lloyd says: “Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity very close to my heart having survived leukaemia at a young age. Thanks to Teenage Cancer Trust, young people today can be treated in units that are a world away from what I experienced. I wanted to do something big for them this year to celebrate how far I have come since I was a young cancer patient and you can’t get much bigger than a life-size dinosaur and a £500,000 challenge!”
Lloyd and his dinosaurs are stopping in to towns and cities along the route to fundraise and raise awareness of Teenage Cancer Trust, and will be in Working Street on the 11th August, so why not stop by and say hello to him and his pre-historic entourage! It’s an incredible spectacle – and one you’ll probably never have the chance to see again! To find out more about the challenge, the charity or the route please go to www.trextreks.com.
