The Spirit of the Dance

The Welsh Sinfonia celebrates its 20th birthday in a Sunday Concert Series of chamber orchestral music including Copland's Appalachian Spring.
This is the first of a wonderful lively programme of music spanning the centuries, and every programme has some connection with dance.
Each concert will be preceded by a chance to chat over tea and cake about the programmes, composers, orchestras, instruments or any other musical topic, with The Welsh Sinfoniaıs Artistic Director Mark Eager, and players.
The programme for the first concert will be Copland's Appalachian Spring, the Original Version using 13 instruments, with the Debbie Chapman Dance Troupe, Bach's Suite No 2 in B Minor for flute and strings - with Catherine Handley on Flute and Stravinskyıs Soldierıs Tale Suite.
The Information Free For All will start at 3.15 in the Foyer - free to ticket holders.
