This day school provides an introduction to life in the Anglo-Saxon period. Using archaeology, historical sources and contemporary literature it explores the life-style and culture of the Anglo-Saxons examining topics such as housing, food, beliefs, family life and law codes. No previous knowledge is assumed.
This day-school will introduce students to life in Anglo-Saxon England using historical sources, archaeology and contemporary literature. No previous knowledge is assumed. We will explore the following topics:
-A brief introduction to the formation of Anglo-Saxon England
-Housing.
-Diet.
-Law-making and law-breaking.
-The Anglo-Saxon family.
