Classical Education Forum Day Course: Introduction to Anglo-Saxon Poetry

By reading poems in translation, this day school will introduce students to the various forms Anglo-Saxon poetry took, including riddles, religious poetry and heroic poetry. No previous knowledge is assumed.
We will discuss the following forms of poetry to see what they can show us about Anglo-Saxon expression and emotion:
-Riddles
-Religious Poetry
-Heroic Poetry
-Elegies
