Based on ancient Russian chants, Rachmaninov’s Vespers is considered the greatest musical achievement of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Cardiff Polyphonic Choir has recently performed the Vespers to critical acclaim in St Martin in the Fields in London: “superb performance combined with a totally professional approach”
Rachmaninov creates an aesthetic spiritual world of lush and yearning beauty, filled with sublime peace and heart-rending drama.
This is a rare opportunity to hear this remarkable work.
Tickets are £12 (Concessions £10; £5 students; free for children) and may be purchased at the door on the evening of the Concert.
