For our 2nd Birthday party we are very proud to present a Restless Soul special with one the UK’s most prolific DJ / Producers of the last 15 years, Mr Phil Asher (Restless Soul / Inspiration Information, London). Along side the fresh soulful vocal talent of Selina Campbell who will be performing a live PA of her underground hit “Addicted” from the Restless Soul record label. Alongside side local boys Sean McCabe and Phil Evans keeping the vibe deep and soulful.

PHIL ASHER
Phil Asher is undoubtedly one of the UK’s most prolific DJ/Producers and has been indispensable to the progressive musical landscape over the past 15 years.
Phil has completed well in excess of 200 of his own productions, as well as innumerable remixes. From his first gig at Legends and London’s first House club Delirium in 1991 (slipping on a record when Noel Watson went to the toilet) to more recent gigs at, Inspiration Information, and Soul Heaven at Ministry of Sound in London, Phil has played the length and breadth of the UK, as well as, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, France, Brazil, Japan, Canada, United States, New-Zealand and Australia.
Along with Luke McCarthy, Phil is the founding member of the restless soul Production Team, which also incorporates producers Dominic Jacobson, Taxi Driver, Aaron Ross and Felix Hopkins and Latest recruits Jose Carretas, Bopstar & Craig Whitfield (HHA). He also produces under various aliases and he is also recognised as being one of the pioneering forces in the West London (Broken beat) movement. Phil has been an instrumental part to the scene, from being a founding member of the CO-OP club alongside Dego, I.G.Culture and Demus, Afronaut & G-Force, to representing and promoting the West London sound worldwide.
He is one of those hardworking soul soldiers trying to unite the love for soulful music, breaking down musical frontiers and releasing an eclectic output of quality music.
Phil is Currently busy releasing Songs Via restless soul records, as well as running Inspiration Information & now the Bi-monthly restless soul Night with the Boys., He has just finished remixing Kathy Brown for the Layabouts & George Levin For BBE Records, Tony Allen, Osunlade , BTSC for Papa, & Amp Fiddler & Alton Miller.
SELINA CAMPBELL
Selina is a late bloomer in the music industry. Having written songs solidly for the past 3 years, singing for little over a year developing, making mistakes, recording and re-recording, each day she gets closer to perfection. She makes a habit of creating music that she wouldn't want to give away, writing song lyrics that are deep and meaningful to her.Her vocal sound can only be described as British Soul crossing over nu-soul, hip hop to broken beat production. The interest in Selina is forever growing and the industry can only anticipate that Selina will have a lasting presence. She hopes that her work is as touching to her listeners as it is to her. Her songs touch on subjects such as love, marriage and heartbreak, her childhood and even death.
"I don't know where the inspiration comes from, it just comes and I don't analyse it too much. If I feel something that pulls a heart string, it comes out in writing without a warning" Selina promises that in each song is a real-life story be it hers or yours.
On her journey she has worked with the most talented producers, and is currently developing her sound with the phenomenal Guynamite, the wonderful Son of Dan and amazing TE1. She is also involved in projects with talented producers, Analogue Jones, MAQman, Guwain and Tha Architect."I do feel like I have found the right combination with Guy, Son of Dan and TE1. I'm also enjoying the project work I am doing with others. I have really quickly developed as an artist since meeting these guys and this year will be very constructive."

Chicaboom was born on 5th July 2008, and now includes a host of residents, Sean McCabe, Mae Carrol, Liam Mellor, & Alex Gorman. Our ambition is to continue pushing the music we love (new, present & oldies). We play a wide selection of Soulful styled dance music, from straight up Deep & Soulful Vocal House, drenched with tastes of Gospel, Disco, Funk, Afro, & Latin grooves. Expect to hear the most upfront House music mixed with a wide selection of timeless classics. Generally all round feel good music!
We organise a small friendly monthly party (last Saturday of every month) within the cosy and intimate surroundings of the Undertone Basement (10 Feet Tall) in the heart of Cardiff. This is a place people can come and be themselves, have a good boogie, let their hair down to some of the best quality house music from around the world and across the years. This is simply the perfect club for anybody who loves good music!
Inspired by other nights and events such as Southport Weekender, Soul City (London), Days Like This (Birmingham), Soul Heaven, Garage City, Body & Soul, Shelter (NYC), Djoon (Paris), Devotion, The Sands (Southport), Bump N Hustle (Bournemouth) and loads more.
We draw our musical inspiration from artists and DJ’s such as Masters At Work, Blaze, DJ Spen and Karizma, Tony Humphries, Deli-G, Kerri Chandler, Dennis Ferrer, Osunlade, Jimpster, Glenn Underground, Jazz N Groove, Quentin Harris, Larry Heard, Ron Trent, Barbara Tucker, Stevie Wonder, George Benson, Salsoul Orhcestra, Motown, Roy Ayers, Incognito, Brand New Heavies and many more alike!
