We are delighted to bring to Wales the International Soprano Kathleen Battle for Christmas Presence 2004 – Cardiff. Conducted by Arwell Hughes, Kathleen will be joined by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Cardiff Ardwyn Singers and the Howell’s Girls Choir for a gala celebration of Christmas music, helping launch the season in magnificent style.
This prestigious event will mark the first ever visit to Wales of Kathleen Battle, one of the most acclaimed singers of our time. She has appeared on the stages of the world's leading opera houses with the great orchestras, including those of New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Vienna and Paris. Her many recording and television appearances have brought her voice and musicianship into millions of homes. A distinguished recording artist with a wide range of releases encompassing complete opera, concert, choral, and solo albums on all major labels, Miss Battle has received five Grammy Awards and one Emmy Award.
With a new commission, ‘Celebro’, by the celebrated Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, Christmas Presence will be a special Celebration for all the family - a concert full of seasonal and traditional music that captures the spirit of Christmas.
