Cardiff Polyphonic Choir sing Vaughan Williams's Mass in G Minor.
Vaughan Williams’s Mass in G minor is a truly beautiful work, full of rich harmonies and at the same time evoking the Tudor world of Tallis and Byrd.
The choir has chosen to perform this piece in a programme of 19th and 20th century British sacred music which includes Gerald Finzi’s anthem for Ascension Day God is gone up and Charles Wood’s radiant anthem for double choir Hail, gladdening light.
The church anthem favourite, Bainton's exquisite And I saw a new heaven gives an appropriate theme for this concert of heavenly music.
Tickets £12 (concessions £10 for over 60s; £5 for students; children free)
