Countdown to the Centenary

Cardiff starts the countdown to its centenary in October 2004, and everyone is invited to the party.
With one year to go people from across the capital are invited to join the celebration by bringing a birthday cake to the party. The first 99 cakes – one for each year since the charter year, will win a prize, ranging from centenary goodies to a weekend away for two.
Brilliant bakers or creative cooks can bake their own cake and enter the ‘best cake’ competition, but anyone who brings a birthday cake along to the Tourist Information Centre at the Hayes on October 28 after 11am will be in with a chance of winning a great prize.
