WNO Strings are joined by RWCMD players from the WNO Orchestral Placement Scheme
SHOSTAKOVICH: Chamber Symphony in C Minor, Op.110a (arr. by Barshai from String Quartet No.8)
Elgar’s much loved Introduction & Allegro for Strings forms a triumphant opening, which contrasts with Shostakovich’s dark and turbulent Chamber Symphony. Both pieces illuminate the virtuosity and passion of the String Orchestra.
