Cardiff Comedy Festival Edinburgh Previews: Lloyd Langford & Elis James

Lloyd Langford is a Welsh stand-up and writer, described by The Guardian as "one of the sharpest comedic minds on the circuit". Winner of the first Chortle student title in 2004 and nominated for the Chortle best breakthrough award in 2008, has provided tour support for Russell Brand, Alan Carr and Rhod Gilbert.
He has performed all over the world and has featured on television shows such as The Comedy Store (Paramount Comedy) and radio programmes such as The Jon Richardson Show (BBC 6 Music) and is a regular guest and co-presenter on The Rhod Gilbert Show and a team captain on the second series of the Cardiff Glee-recorded Jest A Minute (both BBC Radio Wales). He has written for comedy programmes including Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2), The Now Show and The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4).

Elis James began performing stand up in 2005, and in 2008 was chosen by Avalon to host the prestigious new act showcase 'The Comedy Zone' at the Edinburgh festival. In 2010 he followed in the footsteps of Simon Pegg, Dylan Moran, Ardal O'Hanlon, Dara O'Briain and Ross Noble by starring in 'Best of the Edinburgh Fest' at the Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney Comedy Festivals. He is also a regular contributor to The Rhod Gilbert show on BBC Radio Wales as caretaker Rex. He also performs as Rex in bi-monthly theatre show 'The Committee Meeting,' which he co-writes with fellow Welsh comic Chris Corcoran.
