When: Sunday 23rd September 2012 - Doors: 5pm
Where: Glee Club, Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay, CF10 5BZ
Peter Lewis was a passionate campaigner who enjoyed nothing more than telling jokes. After his untimely death, we pay tribute to him with an evening of comedy.
Members of Cardiff People First pay tribute to their colleague and friend Peter Lewis, who died tragically this year. Over his life Peter spoke up for his rights and the rights of other people with a learning disability against all odds, yet he always had a smile on his face and an unending series of jokes.
The show will feature 4 brilliant comedians including Robin Morgan, one of the strongest new acts heading out of the welsh comedy scene. In only 18 months Robin has reached the semi-finals of So You Think You're Funny, Loaded Laftas Search For a Star and Welsh Unsigned Stand Up Award.
There's also Chris Chopping who worked at Cardiff's Glee Club, watching the country's best comedians, gaining the nerve to try for himself. A fixture in the scene now, he won You Must Be Joking 2011. Rob Hughes, described by the South Wales Evening Post and as 'a dark horse of comedy' after a stand out performance at the Swansea Comedy Festival finale, Rob is definitely one to watch. Not forgetting Ignacio Lopez, the half-Spanish, half-Welsh lothario who made it on to ITV's Show Me The Funny.
All proceeds will go to Cardiff People First, helping people with a learning disability to campaign for their rights.
