Clueless (1995)

If anyone in Beverly Hills is "clued in" it's Cher. She's almost 16, rich, way popular, and loves letting the world benefit from her expertise in life's important issues - like dating, fashion and looking good. She believes in "doing stuff for other people" but when it comes to matters of the heart, especially her own, she's well - clueless!

Clueless is director Amy (Fast Times at Ridgemont High) Heckerling's smart, funny variation on Jane Austen's novel Emma, sweetly romantic and gently satirical of 90210 social manners. Alicia Silverstone won everyone over with her portrayal of a Beverly Hills teen, Cher, whose penchant for helping others with their relationships and self-esteem is a cover for her own loneliness. The remainder of the cast is unbeatable: Dan Hedaya as Cher's rock-solid dad, Wallace Shawn as a geeky teacher and Paul Rudd as the boy who has always been Cher's surrogate brother--and the true holder of her most secret wishes.

Screening Information:

The venue is located directly between the Dr Who Experience and the Norwegian Church on the recently developed Outer Lock Crossing in the Porth Teigr development with stunning views across the whole of Cardiff Bay.

Our events are for adults, no under 18s admitted. Please ensure that you bring along I.D. if you’re lucky enough to look under 21!! No dogs or pets allowed.

A licensed bar is available so you can enjoy a drink watching the sun go down and the stars appear. Hot food and cinema snacks and treats will also be available for you to nibble on...check our Facebook page for updates nearer the night for which of our friends will be catering. We'll also supply some awesome tunes to enjoy whilst you watch the sun go down.

What if it rains? We will still go ahead – we are an open air cinema in Cardiff Bay so keep this in mind when getting ready as there is no cover – you should check the weather forecast and come dressed appropriately! Remember to bring warm/waterproof clothing and a blanket if you wish, as it does get cool once the sun disappears. We will have disposable ponchos available for free if it's raining. Only in the case of extreme weather, such as dangerously high winds/torrential rain, will the screening be cancelled and we will re-allocate your tickets to another screening.

Seating: Seating is provided so there is no need to bring your own. Seats are not numbered and there are no specific seats reserved with tickets. When choosing your seats on the night please don’t leave gaps.

No food or drink is allowed to be brought on site.

Screening will start just after sunset once it is dark, approx 9.30pm.
