This is a good place to spend an evening out of town, especially in the summer. There's a DJ on the weekends, along with some good offers on pints AND they serve 1664 on draught which is always a bonus.
Like Via Fossa - this bar is under new management and will be renamed 'Salt' in the very near future. The new owners, Brains Brewery have spent £200,000 redecorating Salt as a New England style bar. A new review will appear here soon...
Bar 38 a very young and trendy bar with a very modern look about it. Even the toilets are funky with an Alley McBeal style communal washing area!
The Bay can be tricky to get to by public transport so, if you don't fancy forking out for the taxi fare, don't worry - you can drink something a bit different here...non-alcoholic cocktails. The strawberry one is especially nice.
On the down-side, visit Bar 38 on a sunny Sunday afternoon and you may be in for a long wait. The service can be slow, and I've waited 30mins plus for meals to arrive. Hopefully this is just cos the sunny days have started earlier than anyone thought - once the summer really kicks in, I hope they get some extra staff in to speed things up.
