Wind Orchestra

Where: St Andrew & St Teilo Church, Woodville Road, Cardiff
This concert of 19th Century Wind Orchestra Music will include as part of the College’s 60th Anniversary year Berlioz’s epic Symphonie Funebre e Triomphale.
Berlioz specified numbers of players for each section, and this includes 33 clarinets; so our own students from the Senior College will be joined by those from our junior music department, past students and staff.
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Felix Mendelssohn the programme will also include his Overture in F. Krommer’s Double Clarinet Concerto in the band orchestration by Crusell will be be played by Darius Gray and Peter Lovatt. It promises to be a memorable evening.
