White Crow is a devised piece based on the Welsh myth ‘Branwen’ from the Mabinogi. It is set in a dystopian Great Britain where Ireland and Scotland have gained fully fledged independence and Wales is the last remaining Celtic country under the governance of Westminster.
The story follows Ben Williams and his siblings Niss and Branwen as they deal with the discovery and responsibility of their family’s role in the movement for Welsh Independence. After encountering a group of former Irish revolutionaries, Ben faces a difficult decision: whether to fight for his country, or his family.
