Where: St Fagans National History Museum, Cardiff, CF5 6XB
Everyman Summer Theatre Festival 2011 returns to the beautiful surroundings of St Fagans National History Museum, with a programme of Major Generals, estranged twins and old kings!
This year we are staging three main shows at St Fagan's National History Museum
The Pirates of Penzance (by Gilbert & Sullivan) 6-16 July
Adapted by Richard Tunley & Gareth Wyn Griffiths, this production was reviewed as a 'modern classic' when it appeared as part of the festival programme in 2005. Now re-visited, re-vamped and re-scored, this year's offering promised to provide an evening that both G&S traditionalists and those who like their G&S with a little more punch, will enjoy.
The Comedy of Errors (by William Shakespeare) 20-30 July
Shakespeare's earliest and most farcical work makes a welcome return to the Everyman Summer Theatre Festival after 20 years.Travel with us to sunny Ephesus-on-Sea for a merry-go-round of mayhem and madness in which no one is quite certain who's who and what's what!
Old King Cole (by Ken Campbell) 23-30 July
Join the fiendish Faz and the feeble-minded Twoo as they take over the play to try and help weedy Baron Wadd win the hand of 'fair' Princess Daphne (daughter of Old King Cole). They must employ all their skills of skulduggery and be prepared to undertake dirty deeds to prevent the handsome and heroic Cyril the Fiddler from claiming the bride to be. Suitable for young people aged 7-10.
In addition, we are proud to welcome Shadwell Opera, who will be performing their production of Albert Herring (by Benjamin Britten) for one night only on Sunday 10 July.
Full details on all of our productions, as well as performance times and ticket prices are available on the festival website at www.everymanfestival.co.uk
